• 5x Tank commanders
• 4x Cullens hedgerow cutters

£31.50 / €36.85

Army: United States

The first tanks the US landed in Normandy were the 75mm armed models of the M4 Sherman tank. It was quickly realised that against the Panthers and Tigers something with more hitting power would be needed. The up-gunned M4A1 (76mm) Sherman was rapidly shipped to France.
Like they did historically, before September 1944, you can only have the one M4A1 (76mm) armed Tank Platoon in your US Tank Company (p. 91, Festung Europa).
So put them to good use!

M12 155mm GMC Field Artillery Battery

£31.50 / €36.85
Quantity:

Army: United States
Period: Early War

The M12 155mm GMC was based on the chassis of the M3 “Lee” medium tank. It was one of the earliest US self-propelled weapons developed during the war. It mounted a 155mm M1917 or M1918M1 gun.

The turret and superstructure were removed, the engine was moved forward to behind the driving compartment, and the 155mm gun was mounted at the rear of the vehicle. Fitted to the rear of the hull was a heavy spade, which was lowered to the ground before firing to absorb recoil. The driver’s compartment was the only part of the vehicle fitted with a roof. M12 was built with the three-piece final drive and differential housing and almost all had heavy-duty suspension bogies with the track return roller to the rear of the bogie.

"The Devil's Brigade" Special Service Force

£25.20 / €29.48

Army: United States

Contains Company HQ and two platoons

The First Special Service Force (SSF) was initially designed, outfitted and trained as an elite mountain commando force with the mission to invade Norway. Though that mission never materialized, their unique training in mountain warfare, skiing, demolitions, and hand to hand combat gave them the required skills to excel on the battlefields of Italy.

The Germans dubbed them the Devil’s Brigade, because they used a trademark sticker depicting the SSF unit patch together with a slogan written in German: Das dicke Ende kommt noch, (The worst is yet to come), and left them on German corpses and fortifications as they raided.

Contains: 5 No. Individually sculptured M5A1 Stuart Light Tanks

The M5 variant of the Stuart light tank stemmed from the suggestion to the Ordnance Department that the M3 version be fitted with the twin Cadillac engines and the Cadillac Hydra-matic transmission. These components were, at the time being manufactured and fitted to commercial vehicles.

After successful trials, compounded by a shortage of Continental engines, the Cadillac modified version of the Stuart approved for production in February 1942. The new version was originally designated the Light Tank M4 but this was later changed to M5 to avoid confusion with the M4 medium tank or Sherman.

Army: United States

The 3" Gun M5 is an anti-tank gun developed by the US from the T9 3" anti-aircraft gun. In late 1940 the US Ordnance Corps began to adapt the T9 3" Gun to the anti-tank role.

The barrel of the T9 was combined with the horizontal sliding block breech, hydropneumatic recoil system and split-trail carriage of the M2 105mm howitzer. The prototype test weapon was designated the T-10 and began trials in September 1941. Field trials soon proved the new weapon was a great improvement over existing US anti-tank guns.

Quantity:

Army: United States
Period: Early War

A Fire Direction Center (FDC) quickly consolidates the fires of heavy and light weapons in order to unleash a truly heavy bombardment upon a known target. Located with the corps or divisional big guns, they also coordinate the fires of non-artillery weapons into the overall fire support plan.

Linking to FDC
The Fire Support Net is a communications net that gives any unit with the proper training, artillery registration, and radio sets the ability to link with an FDC team.

Any platoon with a Staff team is automatically linked to the FDC team.

Any platoon listed under the Supporting Fire special rule can link to an FDC team by deploying their platoon’s Command team within Command Distance of the FDC team at the start of the game.

Observers are linked to the FDC team if their platoon is linked to the FDC team
